Mission & Philosophy
Established in 1942, St. Matthew School community strives to follow the example of Jesus Christ as He prayed and worked among the people of His time. We foster the spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional and physical growth of our students.
Sharing with the family the educational mission of the Church, St. Matthew School helps each child shape and reshape his/her goals in the light of the Gospel spirit of freedom, dignity and charity. Sacramental participation and liturgical celebrations aid in the spiritual deepening of these values. Extending the theory of Christian living to real experiences, activities centering around classroom and community service are encouraged.
Our academic foundation is based on the principles of self-learning, decision-making, and peace-making as well as teaching basic skills in each academic area.
The development of any person is a process. St. Matthew School understands and accepts its part in this process. We endeavor to integrate sound academic skills and Christ-like patterns of living that will enable each child to meet the demands of the future, both at higher levels of education and in choosing lifetime careers.
